media players right, i'm using VLC at the minute but it wont play videos with them scrambling... winamp, my favourite, causes the system to crash on the spot everytime i load it... windows media player asks for (ahem) licences half the time, and is so ridiculously antiquated, i tell it to monitor folder, so.... it just ignores me and doesn't bother... mint are there any real alternatives out there? i couldn't give two hoots about streaming or recording, i just want a media player that plays mp3s and porn without questions. thanks
Re: media players My advice - find out why Winamp is crashing, fix it, and use that Best media player by a country mile
i double click, screen dies, system reboots... on my old pc, of which incidently i still use the hard drive from, winamp would freeze if i double clicked an mp3 in a folder, the only way i could load stuff was by opening winamp first and adding it to the playlist... could there be some kind of bug on my system (about 2 months old) from the old hard drive, neither my old pc or this one seems to like winamp one bit...
Whos' gunna help poor scruf in scouseland with tech support once this board goes? he's gunna be FUCKED
I only use winamp for mp3s and audio cds. And media player plays all video formats fine for me including pron!! I turn the acquire licence bullshit off, only thing it does is try and find a codec once a blue moon. But i generally download the codec bundles.
Winamp forums will be the best place to look mate - they're really good if it stops working www.winamp.com
