Ape-X presents… ► £8 Early Birds now available here - http://bit.ly/1o8E8NZ ► Detroit Swindle In just two years, Detroit Swindle have racked up releases on labels including Tsuba, Huxley’s Saints & Sonnets, Freerange and Heist. They’ve toured the world for DJ sets, set up their own Heist imprint and turned out a series of classy remixes. It’s a sizeable chunk of any producer’s bucket list in such a short space of time, made all the more impressive by the fact that the duo weren’t even sure their music was any good until a friend took it upon himself to submit some demos for them. We’re delighted to welcome the pair back into the ballroom for the first since the Void Sound System install. They played back in February 2013 for our 5th Birthday Special warming things up for Ame. This time Swindle takes centre stage in what we anticipate to be yet another electric night in the club full of unmistakeable Ape-X atmosphere! ► Laszlo Dancehall (Leon Vynehall & A1 Bassline) The duo of Laszlo Dancehall consisting of Leon Vynehall and A1 Bassline have in their own right stepped to the forefront of the scene with well respected releases and label associations under their belt. Leon Vynehall has continued to impress, most notably with his standout ‘Brother EP’ on Aus Music. Equally A1 Bassline’s sound has evolved to encompass deep brooding melody and hard hitting techno cuts on the likes of Dirty Bird and his own ‘Source Unknwn’ Imprint. It’s obvious to hear that this duo know how to work the crowd and it’s in Laszlo Dancehall that they’ve found their stride. Working on a stripped back, club ready sound, the Duo’s records on George Fitzgerald’s ‘Man Make Music’ have been functional but with the kind of soul you’d expect from MR.G. Having caught their most recent Boiler Room, it really made us stand and take notice. We can’t wait to have the duo bounce off each other in the ball room come May the 2nd. ► Medlar His original productions under both his Klic and Medlar monikers gained support from a diverse selection of tastemakers including 2562, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Jackmaster, Addison Groove, 6th Borough Project, Space Dimension Controller and Jimpster - as well as airplay through Radio 1, 6Music and Rinse FM - and the Hit and Hope imprint which he co-runs forged an identity as a purveyor of quality underground electronic music, regardless of genres and trends. ► Support from JammHot ► West Lemons Host Room 2
