I dare say it's more likelier that it's because GC is dead and he wants to play out more often :)

Thats the nail in crashers coffin, then. GC is dead, long live GK (and promise!). Matt said on his board that promise have already booked him for NYE2004......class!! Leaving crashers probably a great career move for him, he seems to be the only DJ noones got a bad word to say about.

Matt is one of the best DJs i have ever seen and had the pleasure to hear his late sets at Gatecrasher. Hopefully tis means he'll play more often around the country, especially up here, and it is deffinately a good move.

    Good luck to him

Doesn't look that there will be too many more trips to Crasher in the offering now then. Hopefully Matt will get to play locally more, Promise, Shack, Trees (unlikely I know). Sad day for GC though!

I dont think its anything to do with him not being on the album cos he said on his board a while back he was leaving it too Marco V and Scott Bond !

Its time to move on for Matt Hardwick cos he is obviously one of the best trance DJ's in the world and from what you can see on his message board and sound down to earth bloke !

I look forward to seeing more of him at Promise and would deffo consider travelling in the UK to see him !

    Gatecrasher - well......

i would imagine after bein in the dj box at crasher for eight years he has realised in the past year just from lookin at the club while he is playing, what a joke it has become.

the fact that they are using the lion and the gatecrasher name to promote the student nights says it all

    its all about the money

Theres more money to be made from johnny sixpack with his 10 pints of foaming nut brown ale, than there is to be made from johnny pill monkey and his 1 bottle of water and entry ticket night out :)

Im glad to see Gatecrasher dying - It will be good for the club scene methinks.

Its a shame on all the regulars and fans who have been slowly screwed around and then left high and dry though

Because the huge success of gatecrasher and other superclubs (in my opinion) is responsible in part for the clubbing "recession".

What goes up, must come down - and Gatecrasher got as big as it could,... Arena gigs, cd's, Millenium Night etc etc - All have contributed to an influx of punters willing to pay more and more money just to see the huge names, and less willing to support less well known DJ's and other "non mainstream massive" aspects of clubbing.... In the past few years as we know the whole thing has collapsed on itself because of this.... You can see it yourself with Promise going monthly...

..Im glad they are going down cause it will hopefully bring things more down to earth and get people exploring music a bit more rather than just aiming for the headliners on every event they go to.

Im no expert by any means, but thats just how ive seen it :)

... anyways this is an old chestnut which im sure you know what im getting at - I hope Matt gets the success he deserves, he's something the UK should be proud of along with our other Talent like Jon O Bir and J00F. :D
