    Martin O'Neil

    Hmmmmm.

"Rumours" are rife again that O'Neil is going to be taking charge once this takeover goes thru.

Maybe with Quinn in a coaching role.

3 way north-east race for the irishman!

    bring it on! :samurai:

Can you really imagine him going to manage a Championship side with no money?

It was a stepping stone though. Celtic is a massive club! Going from Leicester to Celtic is a very smart move. He had more money there than what Sunderland actually have though!

more money than we CURRENTLY HAVE!

you keep forgetting the fact we are about to be taken over and hev money pumped into the club.

would he fancy a fresh challange at sunderland with fresh board, new hope etc...

or would he want to join newcastles club of no hope ran by a fat horrible chairman? ;)

Who's putting the money in? How much are we talking?

No hope? You can't say our managers haven't been backed! As a chairman it's all you can do surely. If Roeder had been in charge at the start of the season, and our key players had of stayed fit, Parker, Owen, Taylor, Dyer, we would of been well pushing for CL!

The consortium are making the money available.

Buying the club, Clearing the debts, Injecting cash into strengthening the squad.

I think £20million was the figure thats been mentioned/rumoured for next season, which is ample for the championship. More if required to get us straight back up.

Then thats when the big money will come rolling in.

But - we'll just have to see! It could all go pear shaped if murray gets greedy!

You say if roader was in charge from the start and all your key players were fit you would be pushing for CL - does that mean if all our players stayed fit and someone else was in charge of us from the start we would not have went down. got into europe etc,,,,?

It's all if's aint it - everyone has their problems just some cope better with them

We'll see if it happens. I wouldn't get your hopes up though

No, because you have no good players. Your squad is quite easily the worst in Premiership history. Who have you lost for long? Elliott? Was he going to be scoring loads? McCartney and Wright? Were they going to be the savouries of the whole defence? Arca out for abit?

It could tbh. In a way I'd like us all to do sort of well, it's good for the area overall. I hate you's but almost feel sorry for you's this season, I'd be distaught:(

You didn't answer me there about your players though??

We have good players, but also really, really bad luck! The injuries we've had over the years have been unbelievable! I know eveyone gets them, but ours, the quanity of them have been terrible. If we got the right manager in, a coach who can actually coach, instead of muppets like Souness and Saunders then we could be a quality side. We have the chairman who backs the manager, and a stadium and fanbase to match the biggest clubs in the land. This summer is one of the most important ever! We need the right manager to come in(or maybe not, Roeder), and we need to replace the irreplacable in Shearer. They'll be more comings and goings than in Casy's knickers on a weekend!

Sorry I didnt mean to avoid the question :p

Our players are shit, I was just takin the piss.

I see what you say about a decent manager getting the best out of your players because over the years you have had a lot of quality players. Regardless of who comes in though it never seems to change - doesn't that make you think the problem lies elsewhere? I.e. with fat freddy and the rest of his hooker loving mates?

I still think they are no good for your club!

Yes you did! I'm surprised your not trying to stick up for them. It's not there fault, it's the farthers genes, or some bollocks like that.......

No, I honestly don't think it's Freddie. Even though he's a cunt, he tries his very best for the club. He pulled out all the stops for the club(ie, Owen!). He might be rinsing us, but you can't say he doesn't back the managers! It's not like he's that Russian at Hearts or something:lol: Bobby took us to where we belong, he just lost his way a bit, but still should never of been sacked when he was! Souness was a rush, terrible mistake, which should never of happened. It was exactly like Dalglish after Keegan, just never ever worked out! If we got the right man in, replace Shearer, and make a couple of quality signings, then there's no reason why we can't be right back up there, plus we also need that little bit of luck, which everyone needs!
