Manchester Uniteds number 57 Paris Saint-Germain president Francis Graille believes Gabriel Heinze will soon complete a £6m move to Manchester United. Heinze, currently on international duty with Argentina, was one of the most impressive defenders in the French League last season. United have never disguised their interest in the 26-year-old, who is due to face Brazil on Wednesday and now a deal could be moving closer. Graille said: "We are keeping in touch with Manchester United's chief executive [David Gill]. "I am confident but we will see what happens in the coming days." United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been looking to strengthen his defensive options with Rio Ferdinand receiving an eight-month ban for missing a drugs test. If Heinze arrives at Old Trafford it will mean Ferguson will have spent around £13m already this summer to reinforce his squad. United splashed out £7m to bring in striker Alan Smith from Leeds earlier this week. Heinze was signed by PSG from Real Valladolid three years ago and was linked with Chelsea last season. PSG, runners-up in the league, face Second Division Chateauroux in the French Cup final on Saturday. But Heinze will be absent as he is preparing for the World Cup qualifier against Brazil next week.
