Madrid Plane Crash Looks really bad only 19 survived and 152 dead http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7573674.stm
I flew on one of those MD-80's from LAX to Vegas and I hated every minute of it. It was only an hour long but it felt like I was in a car at 30,000 feet.
I hope I never have to fly on an MD like, they're awful looking planes and some of the models are amongst the most notorious commercial aircraft ever...the DC-10 for example. Old pieces of shit. I reckon commercial planes more than 10 years old shouldnt be allowed in the sky!! Real tragedy, RIP
wwhhaatttt!!!???!! are you 1 of these over enthusiastic bubble wrapped labour voters? flying is the SAFEST transport in the world, the few accident there are, are headline news with high numbers of casualties. Plus, the majority of accidents are human error
no i just dont like flying on old planes, doesnt inspire much confidence. I was on a KLM plane a while back and it was like a flying cattle truck, it was sitting on the runway shaking...like a car does when it misfires and the noise off the brakes was rediculous! I'm aware of flyings safety good sir!! As a frequent flyer I am certainly happy about that Also older planes are far more damaging to the environment and dont have as advanced features as more modern jets
I flew to Bulgaria years ago on their national airline (don't think it even exists anymore) and it's easily the worst plane I've EVER been on. Old country pub style carpets up the middle and dodgy 70's wallpaper hanging off the walls - nee shit. They looked like they'd gone out, pulled a few middle aged tarts off the street, put a bit of slap on them, dressed them in the uniforms and said "Right, there you go. You can be our air-stewardesses". A cattle truck is 7 Star Luxury in comparison.
I think it was Balkan airways and they ran old russian Tupolov 154s! (My grandad is a fountain of knowledge) I went to Bulgaria when I was 7...a bit young to notice at the time but it scarred my dad for life
I had to fly home with them a few years back because I missed my flight home when my parents were living out there. I was just about the only English person on board, Im sure there was chickens running about in the aisles and stuff. The in-flight meal was top notch too, a brown bread bun and a tiny piece of cucumber and tomato
Can you remember the blow-up dolls on Only Fools & Horses. Think the episode was called 'Danger UXD' - they looked like them.
I flew on a SpanAir MD80 a few years back from Newcastle to Alicante and back, and although it was noisy as hell sitting with an engine stuck to your window, I thought it was absolutely fine, and I fly a lot, at least every 2 - 3 months with work Apparently this plane has flown threw Newcastle, scary if it was the one Ive been on
