Newcastle are understood to have agreed terms with Spain international striker Albert Luque. source~~~>> http://skysports.planetfootball.com...gpies+close+on+Depor+star&channel=premiership
aye he can play wide left but also up front, if souness insists on playin 4-5-1 with 2 advanced wingers he's the man for th left wing like, got nearly a 50% strike rate from the games he started last couple of seasons still, lets not jump the gun, we probably wont get him
sorry but luque isnt the answer !! i dont know if/how long been injured if ever ? but since 2002 only scored 34 league goals its quite pathetic really we need someone who gets that each season (in all comps) !!!
Keen the day arnt we? Newcastle are believed to have turned their attentions to Sidney Govou as they look for a new striker. Govou is looking for a new club after Lyon agreed to let him leave the Stade Gerland this summer as reward for his service to the club. Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas conceded in the summer that he would consider offers for Govou. The France international is seeking to leave the French champions for a new challenge after six seasons at the club. Reports emanating from France suggest Newcastle are at the head of the queue to land Govou. The Magpies are desperate to bolster their attack having seen moves for Nicolas Anelka, Luis Boa Morte, Albert Luque and Fredi Kanoute fail to materialise. Newcastle are thought to have contacted Lyon about Govou and the French champions would like to do a deal as quick as possible so that they can bring in a replacement. Newcastle have held a long-term interest in Govou and are ready to offer in the region of €12 million to land the speedy front-man. Govou, who plays down the right for the national team, is keen to get the opportunity to play in his preferred centre forward role ahead of the World Cup next summer. The player's agent Frederic Guerra has admitted that there is a great deal of interest in Govou. "There has been a lot of interest in Sidney as Lyon would be willing to let him leave," said Guerra. "Sidney would like to play for a team at a high level whether it be in England in Spain or in Italy."
