    liquid ( old ikon )

was there last night and was quite impressed, sound system is crystal clear and the lighting is well suited to the new dancefloor.dont think much of the so-called v.i.p area tho as its just the same as the ikon one ( but cleaner ).
the envy area is also cool but as for an over 25area ?? wtf.i was amused at how many chavs there were in there that actually got dressed up for the night and tried to mingle with the new crowd.lol

overall a cool club and nice set-up but how long do we all think it will last ??
they will need to get 2000ppl in every fri & sat ,so with that in mind i think within 6mths the doors will open to the chav culture ikon we all knew b4.

    my thoughts exactly..

there are far too many venues in newcastle to accomodate the fewer and fewer ppl that are getting out now,and with developement starting on the gateshead side of the quay soon there will be another 7 bars+clubs in a years time.

sugar babes,pink,1 or 2 chart dance tracks just exactly the same as blu bambu or baha !!
dont get me wrong the club looks amazing and they have a superb sound system but its just ikon with a new outfit and some make-up.
they had a bath full of water upstairs in the v.i.p and at about 1am someone pulled the plug so the whole downstairs at the back was flooded.why on earth would they not have sealed the water in the tub ?
to me the club looks good the sound is good and the lighting is good but its the same doorstaff, the same outlay and in 6mths it will be the same ikon.

at mr b thats me :
statistics show that more and more ppl are staying home for drinks than ever b4 and the clubs are struggling more and more to reach the capacity needed for profit.at 1am most ppl look at thier watches and think "either we can stay here for free or spend a £10 to go to a club".
with over 20 nightclubs in newcastle now and more than 70% never reaching full capacity the last thing they need is a club with a 2700 capacity.

The dress code is overly strict.

Absolutely no trainers, and no polo shirts.

I went last night with a few friends but i was the only one appropriatly dressed so we went elsewhere

Good of them to mention that on the passes we had!

I never understand this, you could be a total scumbag in a shirt and shoes and get in and cause bother, or just out for a good time wearing a dress tshirt, and not get in

    Looks nice like!

4 million quid for new paint eh

They don't have to let scumbags in to fill the place, they are about 5 years too late for the whole shirt/shoes thing

    And Foundation is closed.

i know some people do not count them as beeing nightclubs but the licencing law has them down as nightclubs and they have a 3am licence.apparently the upstairs areas in both mood & beyond are now nightclubs :spangled:
you can add the cooperage to the list also.

I don't know where the people who are in charge of ruling the dress codes live these days. Averyone knows that shoes and a shirt are items of clothing worn by the majority of people under age, and a lot of charvers trying to pull fat birds.

They should do away with PC attitudes and just state on flyers 'If you look rough, you aren't coming in' :)
