couldnt agree more the problem is who do you drop ?

Id say lampard but you know hes due a goal , Joe cole has probably been our best player , beckham has set up the majority of our goals with his crossing / free kicks . Gerrard is Gerrard its a tough decision like !

For me keeping him as a sub to bring on is good but he needs more than four minutes on the pitch to make a difference .

when were tiring in the secomd half he should be the first person put on defenders are shit scared of his pace !

    Has to be Beckham imo.

He's not exactly done anything wrong, but i just think we'd be a better more exciting team with lennon and cole in the wings, carrick blocking everything in the middle, and gerrard, rooney and lamps going nuts in front of and through the back four.

    how about !

    Robinson

    neville ferdinand terry cole

    bekham carrick gerrard cole

    lennon

    Rooney

I thought lennon and becks combined really well when they were palying in together , lennons pace and runs can be picked out by becks and he could easily pick loose balls up from rooney . I would play him completley up front just high wide and attacking . when youve gopt players that can spray the ball around with pin point accuracy like gerrard becks and lamps lennon and rooneys runs would give defenders nightmares ! :D

Lamps runs into the box mean it's like having another CF though. He's not been scoring yet, but he's still been getting into the right positions, goals'll come soon enough.

How about dropping carrick and having lennon, beckham, lamps, gerrard, and cole across the middle. Bollocks to defending, brazil-stylee.

would be very agressive but cant see sven having the balls to do it . the team wont change for the portugal game bar the return of neville who i think has been a big miss for the team especially becks

The trouble is, the Lampard and Gerrard combination does not work. Both fantastic players in their own right, but together it simply doesn't work as they're both very attacking players meaning we often get over ran in midfield.

4-5-1 isn't the answer though. Although Rooney has the pace to put most defenses under, whacking long balls up to him and hoping he gets on the end of them is ridiculous which is exactly what happened against Ecuador. You could see the lad was shagged out after about 60-70 minutes just from chasing about the pitch.

Lennon I would agree with bringing him in, but at whose expense? Lampard would be my choice as he's not performing at the minute, and then drop Beckham into the centre alongside Gerrard. As has already been said though, its unlikely SGE / SMc will take any risks.

you must play beckham somewhere for the set pieces/free kicks etc...he can play right back aswell so why not...

becks probably realised he cant head the ball , tackle or keep up with any winger in the competition and hed only have been launching long balls towards the centre forward !

Becks bottels out of tackles especiall fifty fiftys he would be no good as a right back !
