[Leeds] 2.10.09 Carl Craig & more @ Northern Light Friday 2 October 2009 TECHNIQUE hosts… The Loft formerly THE NORTHERN LIGHT 10pm - late Following the huge success of this year’s garden parties Technique takes to the infamous venue formerly known as Northern Light for a special event to enter into a new term. This event provides a rare chance to get down to credible sounds in an interesting multi room venue within the heart of Leeds, a rarity in the city these days. We have also brought in top notch production and sound specifically for this gig. Having played host to the enormous ‘Technique Takeover’ in 2005 and of course Mr HAWTIN’S first appearance at Technique and in the city centre, The Loft exclusively opens it’s doors to Technique to provide three rooms of quality…if you haven’t been to the venue before this is not to be missed, if you have, then you already know that! So, ‘who to supply the music?’ I hear you cry! We think that such an adventurous event requires something a little special which is why we’ve enlisted none other than CARL CRAIG, all the way from Detroit, USA to head up the proceedings in The Hall – quite literally one of house and techno’s most important pioneers! THE REVENGE steps up to support CARL CRAIG in THE HALL. Arguably one of the most exciting new acts of the year, busting out of the blocks with a load of massive 12' releases and remixes both solo and alongside HARRI of SUB CLUB fame and Craig Smith as 6TH BOROUGH PROJECT... and of course Jay, Christian and David will be throwing their bit in! London folks from the huge MULLETOVER and DDD club nights are drafted in to host The Basement, a low space perfect for deep club music. Looking after this room we’re glad to welcome back the enigmatic CHARLES WEBSTER fresh from destroying The Terrace at the Garden Party at the start of the summer. Hosting for MULLETOVER and DDD we have Murmur head honcho GEDDES and local boy SIMON BAKER respectively, what a battle! Which brings us on to The Box, and to MONO_CULT, we have no doubt that the boys will bring their brand of funk to the event, Alongside MONO_CULT, Dean Muhsin returns to Leeds after quite sometime, having been a native in the city for years. Dean’s BEARWEASEL project alongside Louisa Paige has seen him receive critical acclaim with releases and remixes for the likes of AUDIOFLY’s Supernature label and of course Geddes’s Murmur imprint. Dean’s also he’s also stepped up to perform alongside STEVE LAWLER on his huge VIVA MUSIC events in London and to release on his label of the same name – so there you have it!
