    Laser Printer Wohs

Hi there, ive got a brother hl-10v laser printer (yes a dinosaur but it works!), anyway lately its been putting faint black lines on print outs. I occasionally clean off the roller on the toner cartridge but after 2 or 3 prints its back to normal. Is this a toner or printer problem. I just wanna know before I shell out another £30 for a new toner.

could be the laser drum itself that's damaged. Let it cool down (for like 3 hours or something b4 touching the drum - i've still got a scar from not heeding my own advice!!) and check out the silvery/greeny drum, rotate it round and check for any mark/burns/inperfections... Sounds like the toner it sticking to the drum in a faulty area of it. It'll be way too expensive to get a new drum. Might be a 'for the scrap' job.

New lasers are fairly cheap nowadays. Toner cartridges are still extortionate (sp?).

i've got an old HP 4L thats on it's way out... won't feed paper except singly, occasionally getting little 'inky footprints' an stuff like that... you can get people to service them, but it's hardly worth it... they even had some new ones in Asda dirt cheap.
