Laptop USB ports damaged.. iv fucked (or rather the dog has) fucked 2 usb ports on my lappy, the little inside plastic bit that covers the copper pins has snapped off. can these be fixed easily? other ppl must have had this problem b4?? anyone?
fucked. the joy of laptop ownership. i can't buy part off the shelft like a PC. the only hope is a scrapper of ebay that you can salvage
it's why i enjoy being with dell, while under warrently and extended cover (over 3 years) they'll replace stuff like this for nowt, got a new heatsink and fan in this thing last month - and the technitian came to my gaff to do the repairs what kind of laptop you got pike? because you could probably google the problem followed by the laptop model and there might be some quick fixes going (if your confident on taking apart your laptop that is....)
Acer Aspire 6920 iv still got 2 other usbs left but 2 down but cos of the mobile dongle, hint if anyones going to get on of these DONT just plug the dongle into yr computer like you see on the adverts USE the extension lead you get with it, it saves yr usbs totally
