My HP has been a great machine considering the absolute battering its had over the last 3.5 years

Got my eye on a new Sony one

very pretty but reliability issues + big dollars to fix if there's any hardware problems

my experience? yes. it runs really well but over priced and the ones i've seen have had questionable reliability. Definately getting any hardware fixed if it goes wrong will cost you an arm and a leg - it's like the Macbooks' of the PC laptops!

Dell - you can get some really good spec machines for not much money - their website where u can select you spec is meant to be really good, but some people think Dell is a bit cheap - they seem ok

Toshiba - i personally like these due to us buying them at work - we buy TONS of them and don't have very many back with problems at all - however, they're a little bit more expensive and won't be winning any beauty competitions but otherwise - bomb proof and you often get 3 years warrenty

Dunno about laptops, but my Dell XPS PC is top quality. If I get a laptop I'll probably go with the Dell.
