Labels starting to kick off with demo mix cd's

posted by amadeus on the tidy board...

    scary!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT INFO FOR SOME OF YOU.

just to let you know: what you are doing here is illegal without paying publishing and royalties to the artists on your CDR. Dispite it being free and a small amount being proccessed - each CDR needs accounting for. This is also a warning to anyone else who happnens to upload or send out various ammounts of mix CDRs. Im telling you as a (mate) our legal department are currently taking action against such an infringement of copyright law - and they have seen your post.

I reccomend you don't up load these CD mixes - and that goes for anyone else.
Ou legal department are hungry for blood and also protect producers and song writers who are within their rights to claim small amounts of royalties.

Im putting this response in the public domain so everyone can take note from this.

Also anyone found remixing then distributing (CDRs)of a licensed tidy release (example The Dawn / Heavens Cry) without being commissioned by ourselves will also be now chased up by our blood thursty legal team.

All this is now set inplace - to protect our vinyl dance industry and the rights of producers and song writers.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

do you think the other labels will follow suit?

its more to do with dj's getting unreleased stuff an uploading it to a public domain (i think) and unofficial bootlegs.

but he's goes on to say that any cd with over 10 copies made should have their permission to do it!

    gurn's fucked then! lol

an isn't mercy on mark's mix here for download? :D ;)

most labels and producers don't seem to have a problem with you using promos (on vinyl or cd) in a mix and putting it up for d/l, as long as it is mixed, so no-one can get at the full version!
