kinnear http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7754312.stm thoughts? i honesty thought ashley would have found a buyer by now?!
Would you buy Newcastle even if you had the money the way things are at the minute? I dont think long term he is an ideal manager, he isnt doing badly tho at the moment and in football its results that count, i personally dont mind him being here at the moment or till the end of the season. Now his main job is to keep the likes of Owen / Harper / Butt / Viduka from walking away from the club or talking to others come Jan when there free to talk to other teams granted Owen / Viduka / Harper havent really played alot.
I think its a good thing if i'm honest, gives a bit of stability to the club. The word is that any new buyers are holding off buying til next year with the credit crunch bollocks. I always thought that the whole "selling the club" was just a smoke screen to get the fans off the boards back. Have to wait and see. Gotta say tho, Kinnear hasnt done that bad of a job since he came and seems to have a passion for what he's doing. Probably just to shut his doubters up and get himself back into management like.
At this moment in time we are stuck between a rock and a hard place and to be fair to Joe he's ground out some good results and had us playing some decent football at times. I think bringing someone else in mid season would rock the boat too much so i'm happy with this decision. On the point of the sale of the club, I thought this would be sorted now also. I just hope that we can bring in the right person in to take the club forward, it all seems to be a bit dead on this front at the moment. another thing we can maybe blame on the CC!
I have been happy with some of the players we have been linked with as well, John Arne Riise being one and then the two at Arsenal tho even JK said once we were linked they all got a game and have played since Shall see what happens anyways, i agree about the rocking the boat if someone else come in to be honest - Kinnear obv likes it up here is passionate about football speaks it how it is and i cant see him taking any shit at all in the changing rooms or owt.
Riise has been absolute shit for the past two years. He's never been a great defender, but has always got by with the amount of goals he's scored. He had something like 90 shots at goal without scoring in his final months at Liverpool, most of which were way off target. Pretty sure it was the worst shots to goals ratio in the league.
He was shit like. Bargain signing tho, we should have got rid a season earlier but thats how the game works. He could probably find form again with the right coach.
