killed my pc anyone got a copy of windows xp pro in heaton (for evaluation purposes yeh? ) i uninstalled the cd for my nu sony phone.. restarted and its killed xp.. 'missing hal.dll.. blah blah.. wank... cannot start cos im fucking useless...' also.. can anyone tell me how to copy a file (hal.dll) from a floppy disc to the hard drive by getting into dos before it boots up??... cheers in advance.. need it fixed before thurs as im off down to london with work & need stuff finished..
tried to text but mi phone was being arsey. You can try copy the .DLL but it probably won't fix it - you'll need a copy of XP - Boot to it - Run the recovery console using chkdsk /r that'll do it
floppy.. well i say found.. im gona download one.. like i say ive found the dll its after.. i just dont know how to boot it from dos and copy it over..

the one from the microsoft site is for xp pro w. service pack 2.. which is what ive got... it blatantly wont work.. i'll need a cd.. anyone got one?

haha its the one i bought off ebay when my computer fucked in 366, elmsy used it too so it should work
