To who, the people of Lee?

In the comment section of the Times yesterday, was a great piece on so called White Flight or racial segregation. The argument in the article was that unlike America the UK does not have such a big racial divide, i.e Inner American slums and the more affluant suburbs which are mostly made up of white familys. But what is sneaking into the northen towns of this country is white flight which happend years ago in america. basicly if a family of ethnic origin move into a prodemetly white area then the people in that area panic and think that the value of the houses are going to drop beacuse of this, a bbc poll was taken not so long ago and the general public were asked:

" would you like to live next to somone from a different race?"

somthing like 38% percent answerd no.


The programe last night went to show that these sort's of opinions arnt just held in the poor inner city areas but are also a massive part of middle class England and wales.
