Keep getting this error bubble

This error bubble keeps popping up on my desktop saying

"The file or directory c:\windowns\temp\Sophos Anti-virus\ CustomActions.log.txt is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility"

What is the chkdsk utitlity and how do i run it.

Is this a serious problem? Its keeps popping up every 10secs and is well annoying

Right Click my computer, Select 'Manage', Click 'Disk Management', right click your drive, select 'Properties', tools tab, Select 'Error Checking' - say yes to the reboot question

even if it fixes the hard disk sector - the file is probably fucked. i'd re-install Sophos
