We should of sold him to Tottenham when we had some good offers. I used to think he was good, but then you think about it he isnt really. He's lazy and can only score tap ins. Lately he hasnt even been doing that either.
Lot of respect for him, when he was injured he said the same thing. He came out & stated that he wouldn't have went to Spurs or anywhere else for that matter simply due to the way he was treat & the patience he'd be given from Sunderland. I dont think he's that bad to be honest like? ...Newcastle could do with a few players like that.
He has been frustrating at times this season, though the facts are he has been injured until November and still got 11 goals since coming back - not a bad return for playing at a club 2 points out of the bottom 3 with extremely limited creativity (especially under RS). Problem is that he cant play alongside Cisse - and Cisse seemingly cant play alongside Jones. He has looked much better playing in a 4-5-1 with him holding up the ball and being the main target man. IMO he was our best player against Portsmouth on Monday and has done the same the last couple of games as well. I think its fair enough that he will leave if relegated - he is now a proven premiership forward who will attract a lot of interest if we went down. Tbh as well he is on reportedly £75k a week on his new deal, so i doubt we could afford him anyway in the Championship??
Hes decent when playing upfront by himself but the sort of coing spurs were talking about we should have snapped there hands off
