Junior G @ Warehouse, Boro Friday 5th Dec. Feat Jon O'Bir, Shan, Jordan Suckley+ more For the last Junior G of the year we bring you some of the finest up & coming, underground talent the UK has to offer. First up is a man that has held a residency with Godskitchen, had tracks signed to Paul Van Dyk's world famous Vandit Label, has a weekly radio show and owns his own record label. All this and Jon doesn’t even turn 25 till this New Years Day. Jon came to the attention of the dance world in 2002 by beating 300 other hopeful DJs in a competition run by M8 Magazine and Passion. Soon after that Godskitchen offered Jon a residency and the prospect of a fledgling career as Britain’s next DJ sensation. 6 years later and Jon’s flawless skills have rocked every club worth its salt, all over the world. This includes regularly playing at the incredible Amnesia for Cream on the White Isle along with numerous appearances at Radio 1 hosted events. Shan has been one of the most versatile and gifted DJs on the circuit for the past 7 years. After bursting on to the scene way back in 2001, the pint sized hero has brought his trademark high-energy mixing, chopping and use of effects to just about every major club and festival in the land. Whether playing hard dance at Polysexual or Parlez-Vouz, or techno and tech-trance at Goodgreef, Shan knows exactly what the dance floor wants and delivers it every time. PFA’s latest signing and clubbing hottest property Jordan Suckley is next up. With an ever expanding diary and skills that even the top DJs are envious of, Jordan has been blowing minds up and down the land this year. The former Gatecrasher and Godskitchen tours regular has since picked up further residencies at Xtatic, NuReligion, Filth and Collision along with various guest slots at the biggest clubs. This year alone Jordan has made his Tidy Weekender debut, played for Judgment Sundays and even been over to Finland. At Junior G he will be showcasing his 3deck blend of techno and tech-trance, as always punctuated by his incredible mixer tricks and effects. This is one set not to be missed! Completing the lineup is the always impressive Junior G resident, Chris Metcalf and local talent Alex Hemmings Room1: Tech-Trance Jon O’ Bir (Vandit) Shan (Goodgreef) Jordan Suckley Chris Metcalfe Alex Hemmings Room 2 Eleck/House Digital Whore Lee Taylor Dave Falloon Tom Worton Info: 10pm-3am £7 NUS/Members, £8 Others www.goodgreef.com www.nucastle.co.uk www.jonobir.com www.warehouseboro.com Guest list Email: juniorg@goodgreef.com or text 07772521103. OLD NEWS THIS LIKE, i was temped to go down and see jon play as its been a while since i have seen him and if u didnt know me and him are like ant and dec best mates oh aye, we have bunk beds at each others houses and everything ha ha but i just cant be asred going down to boro to see one dj and then come back.
Thought this was quite a good night, the venue is like cosmic ballroom. Shame there was hardly a soul in the place. Shame Jon O'bir was on so early then had to wait an hour for the music to kick off again - Shan was playing some weird stuff I thought was dead and buried like Joy Kitikonti. Whoever was on last played a blinder guess he is a resident now. Hopefully some more people will start going after Christmas though!
I know it's a shame isn't it? Cracking lineup but simply not enough people in. I was on first and there must have been a max of 7 there, Kettle then came on and played a belting set as usual. Jon however was amazing, just banged it out from start to finish. It was impressive watching shan play his 3 deck techno set but musically it didn't do much for me. Jordan Suckley was on last, not a resident but recently signed to Goodgreef Barry's PFA agency.
Probably just my musical preferance but Shan for me is easily one of the best (Technically & Musically) Goodgreef has on their books.
