Screen shot 2011-04-01 at 09.45.54.png Motion’s 1st Birthday already! What a year it has been… Within a crazy 12 months Motion has firmly established it’s self as part of Newcastle’s House and Techno family and can be relied upon to deliver amazing bookings and even better atmospheres. After numerous sell out capacity parties including Newcastle debuts for Mendo, Livio & Roby and Karotte, a ridiculous NYE residents party, and even more outrageous nights with 2000 and One, Martinez and Spencer Parker, it's now time to announce our biggest one yet. To help celebrate this occasion and to accomodate the size of the line-up, we are temporarily stepping away from our home at The Other Rooms and are taking over Newcastle’s favourite underground venue - The Cosmic Ballroom.

Headlining the celebrations will be Crosstown Rebels head honcho Damian Lazarus, who’s label roster looks like a who's who of potential 2011 superstars: Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Art Department, Deniz Kurtel, Soul Clap, Russ Yallop and Maceo Plex. Its Damian’s forward thinking attitude has rewarded Crosstown Rebels international acclaim. His residency at Circo Loco DC10 in Ibiza has become the stuff of legend and found him consistently breaking boundaries of sound and stamina and freaking out the dancefloor. How many DJs do you know who've received a sitting ovation on the dancefloor? Recently he released to critical acclaim the 54th edition of the legendary Fabric series and also his debut artist album, Smoke The Monster Out, a bold and heartfelt experimental statement showcasing his vast array of his influences. Put simply "Damian Lazarus plays the best underground records in the world" (DJ Mag)

To make the birthday even more special we have added Columbian born, now Berlin based, Pablo Cahn to the lineup too. With a string of releases on Luciano’s Cadenza Records and Nick Curly’s 8Bit, residencies at Ibiza’s Zoo Project and London’s LikeThat parties and regular international performances in leading clubs such as Fabric, Watergate, Pacha and Undeground in Ibiza, Pablo Cahn Speyer is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young talents to have arisen in recent years. His Cadenza hit ‘Elle’ was one of the biggest tracks of 2010. Also worth checking is ‘Tribute ‘ produced with Cesar Merville and his collaborative Plano Hispano E.P with Hector on 8Bit.

Finishing off the lineup is Ape-x resident Garret Jackson playing one last set in the Cosmic main room before he leaves the Toon. Soundtracking the Boudoir is three of Newcastle’s premiere Disco selectors Geoff Leopard (Dada), Titch (Block Party) and Vance (Jaunt), ending with the Fairless Brothers (Sample).
