did u do any hardware changes? like shifting hard disks around, adding other devices to the IDE cables?

could be something to with low resources or somert to do with the how much hard disk cache you've got - but if it wasn't doing it b4, i'm not sure.

u got plenty of memory in?

definatley confusing :spangled: normally it means low memory or too many apps running or shit in the system tray - but if it's as it was b4, i'm not sure.

Ok.. depending on your operating system and your drivers, the problem could be to do with the fact they are WMD (Windows Driver Model) drivers.

These are the spec for all drivers used in 2000 and XP, but while they are supported in 98 and ME, they dont work so well under those operating systems since they use A LOT more processing power - thats why they tends to skip or jitter more when your system is busy.

So.. if ur on 2000/XP, get your latest chipset drivers fro your motherboard.. that usually speeds up things a bit. Then get the latest drivers from the soundcard manufacturer.

IF it's 98/ME, do the above but make sure you get the VXD drivers instead.. soundcard support under these drivers is better than anything the WMD drivers can do .. even in XP/2000

    I use them in Win98 for mixing MP3s :)

If the pc worked fine before - then either

    a) re-install your operating system again, and download and install all the latest drivers for your sound, video etc etc

    b) skip the re-install and try getting the latest drivers
