Jenas get in Put in transfere request, if we managet o get 10million for him its the best deal since selling woodgate, he is shite
Graeme Souness insists he has not had a bust-up with Jermaine Jenas amid reports the Newcastle United midfielder is set to hand in a transfer request. Jenas missed The Magpies' InterToto Cup clash with Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday evening due to a groin injury. But there are reports the England international was left out of the Newcastle team because of his refusal to play out of position. Magpies boss Souness was keen for Jenas to play at right back if Stephen Carr was ruled out of the tie through injury. Carr was passed fit to play in the 2-1 defeat as Newcastle's aspirations of bringing European football to St James' Park this season bit the dust. Jenas' absence from the match, though, has proved to be the main talking point as speculation claims the former Nottingham Forest starlet wants to quit The Magpies. Souness is adamant there is no rift with the 22-year-old and affirmed the sole reason Jenas did not figure against Deportivo was due to injury. "No, there is no problem, no bust-up," commented Souness. "This is absolute nonsense. I simply asked JJ whether he had ever played at full back before, he said 'no' and that was it. "The only reason JJ was not involved against Deportivo was because he was injured." During the summer, Jenas has been linked with a move away from St James' Park, with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both admirers. Souness has already claimed it would cost £20 million to sign Jenas and he has reiterated the midfielder is not leaving the club, despite the rumours of an impending transfer request. The Scot added: "JJ is not for sale, as simple as that. "We need four players to come in. We can't afford to sell anyone else and certainly we won't be selling a top player and that is what JJ is."
Erm i think i would rather just keep Jenas Newcastle have targeted Fulham midfielder Steed Malbranque as a potential replacement should Jermaine Jenas leave the club. Manager Graeme Souness has a wealth of midfield talent, bolstered further by the arrivals of Scott Parker and Emre from Chelsea and Internazionale respectively, but is nervous about losing England international Jenas. Jenas, 22, is believed to be eyeing a move to the capital - either with Tottenham or Arsenal - after Souness revealed the player told him living in Newcastle was like living in a 'goldfish bowl'. Malbranque is seen as an ideal replacement for the former Nottingham Forest youngster, though Manchester City have already seen two bids for the 25-year-old Frenchman turned down. But Newcastle have money to spare - as evidenced by their pursuit of several world class players, including Real Madrid and England star striker Michael Owen - and can offer more than the Eastlands club. Rumours in France suggest Malbranque would prefer a switch to Newcastle over any move to Manchester. Fulham have already spent much of the summer blocking The Magpies' attempts to sign Luis Boa Morte but there could be fresh interest in the Portugal international's team-mate.
He is nothing like viera, viera was stong and jenas is like a weed, viera can score, jenas cant hit a barn door, viera can pass ass jenas can do is knock it back to given, i think people were blinded by the HYPE that he could be good, we need to accept that he is not that good at all and cash in NOW
