    Jarhead (SPOILER)

    Anyone seen this yet?

It was set to be a really good film in my opinion but you wait for the action (the shooting of guns, face offs, close encounters with the iraqis) for about an hour and a half.

Unfortunately, just when you expect the action to kick in at that point where you think 'here we go, they have about 1% chance of surviving here but I know they'll pull through it anyway in some heroic bout of snipering and machine gunning', the film ends. The war is over. Nobody even fired their weapon nevermind killed anyone.

I'm quite gutted even though it was a different view of life in the army/at war shown in a film for a change but i think it really needed some of the action that you expect towards the end. It's a film to go and see by all means as it is enjoyable but not one you'll remember as one of the best.

    :(

Yes but Mr B if you actually took the film for what it was, it showed that a film could be done about the american military without involving action on a world war scale. Didn't think it was that good anyways, passed the time. Weatherman was a good watch, different side to nic cage, quite funny.

I haven't really watched much to be fair :)

King Kong tops the list like.. proabably followed by either Jarhead, Flightplan or GRODT.

Gonna watch The Weatherman either 2night or 2moro so that could be near the top..

    :p

Thats what i said.. it was a different approach to the usual blazing guns style war film but the fact that it seems to build up to a war that the main characters are soon going to becoming part of then ends very very suddenly was a bit of a let down.. As I say - decent watch but not one you'll remember over other good war films.
