JAMES ZABIELA - alive Well looking forward to listerning to this, The album has, unbelievably, been mixed totally live. It’s a fresh and exciting approach, so its no surprise that James is already the doyenne of the DJ scene, constantly being highlighted on message boards throughout the world. Not to mention having the likes of Sasha and Pete Tong sing your praises. This really is the hottest DJ on the planet. Further proof can be found from the DJ mag Top 100 poll, with James snatching the ‘highest climber’ award, pegging in at #11, beating the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez and even Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx and the Chems in the process. The tracklisting is an impressive blend of respected artists, the up and coming and the down right impossible to find. Names such as Underworld and BT (taken from his recent soundtrack to the recent Academy Award winning film ‘Monster’) should keep the mainstream happy, whilst Sound Alliance, Momu and Jeff Bennet will appeal to a core fan-base. The eclectic approach, as demonstrated by the inclusion of the BT track, doesn’t end there, with James stepping outside of his renowned tech/acid house and breaks signature sound and taking the mix into accessible techno territory toward the end of disc 2, drawing on respected labels such as Carl Cox’s Intec and Downshift in the process.
