i was there. about 10/15ft directly behind him as he did it. the entire stadium went mental! about five minutes after he threw it out onto the boundary some lad ran on the pitch, dived on it and pretended to be dead. then the steward had to put it in the bin as everyone kept chanting 'rudolph killed a pigeon'.
