I've got a divx player but...

    ...it's an Asda cheapy :p

The Model is a Dual DVD 860. It's cool cos it has slots on the front of it for memory cards from cameras so u can watch pics on your tv etc without the need to use cd's or cables :)

I just watched Doom on it and it played it ok and didn't skip or snything but the picture quality wasnt all that. There were pixel distortions where colours ran a bit and a few 'block' effects merged into the picture from time to time.

After reading reviews about other players I've seen that a few people have updated firmware to correct his problem.

So, can anyone find anywhere to get updated firmware for this dvd player? I've had a look but couldnt find anything.. one site i did find was french :( Also, can you roll-back with firmware? I'm not sure if updating can cause problems or not but if so I'd like to think I had the option of going back to the previous version before attempting an update.

    Cheers!

Proper rips or divx dvd rips?

I've only tried the Doom screener so far.

Try an assorted selection, some divx dvd rip downloads and maybe rip a dvd or 2 yourself to test quality.
Its possible that the Doom Screener was just a gash encode causing the problems on your player.

You can play mp3/wma, jpg and MPEG-4.

I'll try the player with more movies later on to check the quality etc. Adam, do you know of anywhere that has firmware for this player?
