Re: Itil Movin up in the Managerment charter eh Spence Yer, I've done it - are you on the three day one of the two week version...?
Re: Re: Re: Itil That's the one i've been on...three or four dayer. Well, it's not that bad really, but there is a lot to take in - pluss you get homework to do. It's all about learning the acronyms and their business procedures - eg - CMDB - configeration managerment database etc. You get an intense three/four days then a multiple choice exam. You must get over 26 out of 40.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Itil So there wont be time to check out Hemel Hempstead's midweek nightlife Has it made any difference in what you do? Is it worth it?
If you pass it you have the option to go on the two week course - one week service support, the other service delivery, both exams are written ones! Mind, there's some money to be made through ITIL BT/Acenture/NHS etc. are all now asking for ITIL qualifications, there's some big $$ to be made here:crazy:
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Itil Lol, it depends if they give you the manuals for it before hand - I went on it last minute and had to read half a small manual and do a mock test each night - but other people got them a week or so before hand. It's good stuff, the procedures they set out will help if you stick to them. It's good to know as many other buisnesses are using this service managerment formula.
I preferred service support. You get notified of your exam mark about one week after taking it, I got mine sent home to save me from office humiliation if I had failed. As well as a certificate you also get the option of claiming a really small crappy green badge
Well if you must, but i'd rather you kept that to yourself! Here you go Spence, a nice job in Leeds for ya: Service Management Specialist - Service Delivery Manager LOCATION: LEEDS SALARY: £52,097 ""The position will be accountable for assisting the Service Management Team to assist the development of key ITIL processes as defined within the IT Service and Contract Management Framework. The position holder and supportive team will be responsible to ensure that all ITIL Support & ITIL Delivery processes are fully documented with the process owners and maintained with Suppliers.""
They'll have you on the two week one next - that's apparantly a real joy:lecture: I'm on a PRINCE2 cource in Aug - can't wait for that one
I recon your dead right, it looks a right bugger, but without it it's rock to get Project Managerment jobs - even Gateshead College are asking for it now for IT/Mgmt jobs:spangled: Had a 3hr "introduction" to it last year, proper dun me head in like:spangled:
