Dont make a mistake and buy a PC with a celeron processor in it - you will seriously regret it mate. Call me the james herriot of computers, ive always got my hand up to the elbow inside one of them at some point during the day The memory is also horrific (pc will be slower than a rusty wheelchair) Oboard graphics is a big no-no You could probably build something faster than that for less than 150 quid :spangled:
i used to have an emachines system... simple enough and it done the job but looking at the spec of that it wont be anythin flashy... dodgy onboard intel graphics that can cope with fuck all i would look around. probs can do better. try places like: www.dabs.com www.computerdirect.org www.computerorbit.co.uk www.goldchip-uk.com for nearly £600 im confident ya can do better.
Cheers fellas, also worth checking with the boffins. I won't be telling my big bro to read this. Is computer orbit in Newcastle?
Gateshead, up old durham road. about 1 - 2 miles from the tyne bridge. dead easy to find. Check out the website. You can buy complete base units ready assembled or get the parts and chuck them together yourself. Means u can specify exactly what u want. Drop in and ask them, they're pretty friendly and give u sound adivce. Don't worry about software, u can get that off any of the board IT geeks. yes, i'm one.
Presume eveything sold by PC World is over priced and shit unless you are told otherwise by someone who knows what they are on about.
Exactamundo. Hence the 'FREE Printer, Digital camera and scanner' bit so u think "all that for my money? what a bargain". 'Tiny' shops also. Currys too. and Comet. Don't buy 'packages' from the bigger stores. You get ok warranties but way-over priced equipment.
