Is this suspicious ebay activity? Whacked some games/CD's on ebay. Two hardcore CD's are going to some scrotes with decent feedback who I'm not too fussed about. But two original xbox games have just went with last minute bids to the same guy. and he must be eager to have a third hand copy of fable, because aliahmed23 from berkshire just whacked £6.85 straight into in my account for it. (£12 in total). Here is how it unfolded. Suspicious or not? Haven't done much selling before and not sure how the scams work these days.
if hes payed straight away and the moneys in your paypal there shouldnt be a problem really. just transfer it straight to your bank account and send him his games
Aye send them recorded delivery because once he payed you the only scam he can pull is to say he hasnt recieved them and try to bump you that way
Rossy, it's possible he's seen one item you were selling, then checked to see if you are selling any more? I've bought multiple items off one seller before after realising that they had more stuff I was interested in. If he's paid you via paypal, and it's cleared, then you've got nowt to worry aboot. Send it off (recorded post if you've got the tinfoil hat on) and you're laughing. Another happy customer
ebay always side with the buyer. what happens is he'll claim he's never received the item or it's not as described and put a claim into paypal. you'll argue he did, paypal auto refund him the money from your account (even if it's empty, they take it from your bank) - case closed. he has the game and a refund. also, it'll cost you atleast 3 quid to send it recorded, plus paypal and ebay fees ontop (ebay now charge roughly 10% of the final fee) so, if your lucky, you might come out with a pound. not worth walking to the post office for. plus, wii/xbox/ps3 games/dvd nowadays some catergories won't even let you charge postage and packing fees.
That’s not true at all. Ebay don't take any of the postage money only the winning bid. When sending stuff via Royal Mail you will be given a receipt as proof of postage. The item is insured up to £30 or something, for more expensive item you have to pay slightly more. Should the item go missing you can claim your money back via the royal mail and the buyer will get their money back from paypal. Sending it recorded delivery makes life easier for paypal should the item go missing as you will be issued with a tracking number and therefore can track the item. Once again this is proof of postage so paypal won’t go refunding any money to anyone until they are sure the item is missing.
it's totally true, it's the newest scam going around. OR they say they've recieved the item but it's not as described, put a claim thru paypal for a refund then send you a brick/empty parcel thru the post. They have proof of postage of sending it back, paypal refund the money - you're left out of pocket for the cash AND the item. Paypal heavily weight in the favour of the buyers now, it's no longer a place for the everyday man to sell their old bits and pieces. Go sell a DVD or a console game, you have to pay your own postage and packaging, you are NOT ALLOWED to charge for it 'to make it more competitive' for the sellers.
Yes its one of the scams about but if you send the item to a registered address via recorded delivery then you are protected. And you also have his address should he fuck on
