Is this External Hard Disk Drive any good for £99??

USB 2.0 250GB external storage solution. This extremely stylish hard disc drive is made with a compact aluminium body and is ideal for storing digital images, etc.

Space saving design for vertical operation
Plug & play and hot insertion/removal capability
    USB cable included
    7200rpm

Does your pc support usb2? If not I'd either get an add in pci card that will or not bother. usb1 is way too slow for storage imho.

nah dont even bother with usb1.

for the sake of an extra tenner to get a USB2 expansion card (any computer shop or sumwhere like ebuyer.co.uk) ud be daft to stick to USB1.

    its SERIOUSLY loads slower!

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
usb1 transfer speeds in comparison to usb 2 are horrendous, expect a file (say a photo) that would take seconds, to take 10 times as long. it's certainly 'usable' but for the sake of £10 and a usb2 card, you should invest!

I've got a similar external disk (for backups), it takes about 24 hours (roughly) to transfer 250gb on usb1.
