sorry if this has already been discussed but i only heard about it at the wknd

theres a rumour going around that junior:G is leaving the cosmic ballroom and moving to a new venue?

does anybody know if theres any truth behind this or is it just rubbish??

more importantly who owns waxn and evolve and why would they change their nights to clash with other established "independent" club nights

The rumours are partially true.
Junior:G will NOT be continuing at the Ballrooms on the 2nd friday of the month. However Junior:G is DEFINATELY back in January only with a better date.

Again in regards to Danny we'd love to be able to stick where we are but it's not possible. We'd also love to be able to say we could go head to head with Evolve but again we have to be realistic. To put line-up's on that would give McDigital a run for there money we'd get no return from a 450 capacity club, we'd last about 2 months. Running a night of the exact same genre on the same date would cripple us with the Venue & Date we currently have.
Put simply Goodgreef dont need to prove anything else up here, they currently hold much bigger & better events all over the UK, Newcastle isnt that much of an issue for them.

Junior:G was initially set up to give clubbers something different & fresh after being deprived of credible Trance line-up's in the area for some time. It's held DJ's that nobody ever thought would grace Newcastle & put certain Nubreed DJ's out there on the map which no night has ever done to the extent we have. we have gained a massive amount of respect & credibilty which has been recognised UK & Worldwide wide not only from DJ's also from the clubbers themselves. All in all - JOB DONE in my book.

We are definately coming back after the Xmas, it would'nt make any sense not to? After finding our feet in the area we have grew from strength to strength & the majority of the fanbase are die hard regulars which only gives us the incentive the date chance will be a massive success.

The line-up's & the nights principles wont change in any manner. Expect to still see as many Exclusives & North East Debuts as always & we will continue at no end to push the Nubreed & local talent. The night will be just as forward thinking & creative as it was when Goodgreef landed up here 17 months ago.

If anything, the date we have is only going to benefit the night & clubbers on a whole. We have'nt had the best of dates at the Cosmic, being on the 2nd Friday of the month & the added fact of running alongside one of the Flagship nights in the North East, it wasn't always easy, but somehow we made it work & gained the support thats put us in a position where we feel confident enough to still run.

Full details of Jan's line-up to be posted in due course & hope to see everyone there fresh after the Xmas hols!

I must stress all these changes (on Digitals behalf) are merely a hunch I have. Nothings confirmed.

The dates Junior:G have re-shuffled are simply a back up plan if things do go ahead. Only we have a better date now so I cant see us ever going back to the 2nd friday.
