Is Robbie a sign of things to come?

Once again talkin bout the long term effects of drugs on the human bodies, namely ecstacy, i've just read through this article on Robbie Williams' interview with Sara Cox on radio1 and it got me thinkin.

Many people have said that ecstacy has serious long term effects to your brain etc, that may be permanent. Robbie says in the interview that he is now on uppers to keep himself from fallin in to serious depression and that he blames it on E. He explains the reasons behind this, scientific ones at that, and i just wondered if it was a sign of things to come.

Think about it, are we really gona have what a lot of scientists believe? A generation of people, white callar workers and blue collar, who have difficulty in performing the simplest of everyday tasks such as tieing their shoelaces or remembering why they had left the house and got into the car?

Makes u think bout all the munted gurning messes u see at festivals and on the weekends.......:spangled:

or then again, mr.doctor to robbie may have just blamed the pills like everyone else does! When infact it could be many things that get him depressed, like his incapability to keep a woman, stardom etc! He may not be able to grasp life mentally! Fair enough if he was just canning them constantly for about a year then its gonna fuck him up aint it!

Munch away is what i say!

You said long term effects and Robbie Wiilliams - eh, he was in take that not hat long ago, hardly swallowing doves on amnesia's open roof terrace in the early 90's.

He's an arse hole - more publicity stunts.

As for the long term effects - every drug has them. Moderation is the key!

Robbie did more than just pills tho didnt he: he mixed them with alcohol, weed and god knows what else.
Yeah...pills are gonna have some effect long term but so are a lot of things.
smoking puts tar in your lungs, alcohol causes depression and is addictive.....theyre legal tho - so that's ok

    uh oh :spangled:

fact is, far as I know, no-one knows the long term effects of heavy ecstasy use, because long term clinical trials have not been done!

They have examined brain activity of users and non-users to see what differences there are, and there are differences, but they could just as easily be caused by random variations or by other non-drug lifestyle factors

at the end of the day there are people who are derpressed & they've never taken drugs in there lives nor are they an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic....it's all to do with the chemical balance in your brain & altho E's can imbalance then there has to be something imbalanced to rock it...if you know what i mean!! :D

    Who said anything about money?

He 's crying out for credibility, something he won't EVER get or be able to buy with all his millions.

well that's a simplistic over generalisation if ever there was one  did they tell you that at skool?

although another fact is, because the scientific evidence is so flimsy and unconclusive, every time you bosh a pill you are taking a gamble with your future mental health :(
