How much did you pay for it and how old is it..
You can get some cracking deals on new laptops these days and the intel core duo laprops are zippy as fuck..

if its 4 years old then it was due to die anyway.just pay about 500 for a half decent new one

what make is it?

if it's a Toshiba or something, parts are quite cheap and u can almost do it yourself.

Sony are VERY expensive to fix as parts can only be gotten from them

claim for it on the house insurance
