Is Beatport taking over your life? I cant stay off this website. Ive actually come home from being out drinking and the first thing i have done is go straight on to Beatport. My bed times are getting later and im getting bags under my eyes. To all my fellow addicts - how can i cure this addiction thats burning a large hole in my pocket? I dont know wether i should be smiling or not!
im the same mate, my crate is maxed up to the brim with wanted tunage just waiting for the dosh. nearly had a fit last time i got my statement through how many beatport transactions appeared! its all good man
It keeps me entertained definately! I just love it how you find tunes nobody else does or hardly anyone has heard of. Just got some absolute beautys last night! Theres this one tune that sounds a bit like This Is Sick but has a really trancey b'down.
Re: Is Beatport taking over your life? An intravenous dose of dc++/soulseek every time your download queue looks big can help. I've just had to whittle my download queue from £100 down to about £30 (and ban myself from using when stoned), it was a sorrowfull time but the best £30 I ever spent. Loads of good new music now though, you don't realise how much good music there is untill you get in on the beatport action. Also the my artists/labels bit is unreal.
it's fucking addictive. you search for a tune you've heard and like, it then throws another four or five at you that are just as good, then you find more related to those... it's way too easy to buy stuff off there, must... learn... control...
Innit. Another handy thing is the bit at the bottom where it says ''users that brought this also brought.'' Unless thats what your on about? Its such a good site. I still think £1 extra for a wave is a bit steep - if you buy 10+ you should pay a bit less imo.
Im the same. Its the reason i currently have no money at all Im going to have to put some kind of restrictions on myself as its starting to get out of hand
beat port is amazing but every so often i keep pressing the back button on me mouse and it goes back to google :fuming:
ive kept myself away since my last binge! i normally just use it for 1 or 2 tunes, then slowley discover so much more i really need but really its all a compulsion!
A nah how ya's feel! i've just spent a fortune on the HMV website. I got a few 80's classics like BIG and weird science though.
dont get me wrong I love Beatport (addict) but has any noticed there seems to be more shit on there atm than in recent months?
Im not surprised considering 5000 new tracks are added every week. I use Beatport for reference but i never buy anything from there, that company is a disgrace.
def good as a reference as the pages are easy to navigate - especially if you are looking for something in particular pisses me off that when im searching by say genre 1in 10/20 or more is decent. Whatever happend to quality control!!!! However we knew this was to be expected with the digital age
Any old moron can setup a label these days so its no surprise. It makes me laugh when you see adverts like "The newly formed, Mo'Selecta Recordings, is looking for new material , please send us your music" What was the point of setting up label if you have nothing to release
I love that word havent heard it in ages you are reet what you say like - But there is no real way to police these Digital Labels thats why vinyl filtered out the shite - nobody would front up cash for pressings of shite so quality control was tight.
i dont know like... i've got a load of horrors on vinyl, the old "why the fuck did i spend 6 quid on that?!?!?"
ps www.beatmatcher.net is good to find alternative sites to beatport no point in paying £1.99 when you can pay $1.99
defo Im so tight that these days a record has to stay in my cart for 2 weeks with constant listens before ill consider buying it
