Iraqi asylum seekers. Now that the Iraq is a free country & the regime they where fleeing from is gone, what excuse do they have to stay in our country? Shouldn't these people be rushing back to their country to help rebuild it?
It's more complicated than that. All Iraqi immigration and asylum cases have been adjourned for the duration of the war and the validity of their claim will be re-assessed once the conflict is finally over. Can work one of two ways, either Iraq is declared safe and they return, or they use the whole issue of the war and years of persecution in order to stay. We'll find out which way it works out in the next month or so. :groovy:
Exactly ! But no no no no They will still get there free houses / dvd players / hi fi's / tv's / shopping vouchers and the likes ! I know what i would do if i was Prime Minister and it wouldnt be able to be writted on here
New legislation has come into force now, don't think there will be as many coming in to the country now. If they do, the obvious economic imigrants will be fast-tracked through the system, some being detained at port and processed within 24hrs. Things will improve in time.
26,000 Afghanistan Asylum Seekers have been offered nearly £3000 each to go home and help rebuild Afghanistan. The Taliban are gone and the country has been made safe. Guess how many have taken up the offer?.......... 39. I wonder why?
