    Investigating BSOD......

    Right then...

My computer has started crashing at pretty regular points in certain 3D games, specifically San Andreas and Far Cry. Curiosly, the first level in each is fine, but in the second, at slightly different places, it either restarts or blue screens.

Error: WRAMDISK.sys caused something or other ADDRESS F78A5B43 base at F78A4000.

I'm dual booting XP Pro and XP x64, and it happens in both.

    Hardware:
    Asus A8V Deluxe
    Athlon 3200+
    2x 512mb Crucial dimms
    Nvidia 6600gt
    Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX

Brand new drivers for sound and video, only new recent hardware is a Hauppauge win tv card, which I've removed with no effect.

I don't think its a cooling issue, I can play the first level in each as much as I like, besides, there are Zalman and Artic cooling badboys on the GPU and CPU and a 120mm case fan.

Bit stuck, any help appreciated!!

    It's a file in c:\windows\system32\drivers

Don't know what it does like, no matches on any search engines from it

    - actually, that gives me an idea, might try renaming it and seeing what doesn't work as a result....

    edit - didn't work :(

Progress: doesn't happen if detail is turned down, and unecessary devices unplugged.

Conclusion: My 400W PSU is inadequate. :(
