invasion......... well, i was in the middle of writing a reply to the Godskitchen thread, and obviously been deleted now, and i can see why, but i do have something to say and would like to see peoples views on this: what does godskitchen do for the north east's dance culture?? dont get me wrong i will be attending, but as far as i see, these big clubs are just invading, taking what they can from our local scene, money included which leads to us not being able to afford the likes of Promise, Sunday Trading, Shindig etc, which in turn has great effect on these clubnights - and results in bad times for the local scene. Whats everyones views on this?? Cos the way it is in my eyes, is the likes of Gatecrasher, Cream and Godskitchen seem to be about money now!!! they are a corporate business. Cashing in on everything with merchandise, festivals, tours etc...... leaving the smaller better nights ruined sometimes. Now they are complaining about the clubscene taking a turn for the worst, with Cream under trial for the next month or so, Gatecrasher going monthly now, i wonder when GK will be affected. But all this has come about because of themselves!!!! its their own fault i reckon!! anyone got any comments?? its an interesting topic!!!
godsk..etc bring these events to places where they do not normally hold nights b'cos they will make the £...... i mean we can say that 'godsk/crasher/cream' are all just out for the £ and that they are bad for out local scene up here like fizz has just sed...... but most of us will b going.. i mean its not every weekend that the northeast gets a lineup like the one of godsk... possibly if shindig and promise held an event.. in the future so that the punters up here had the events so that they wud not have 2 miss out on.. what.. the 2 weeks before an event such as godsk and the 2 weeks after just 2 pay for it..
neither! *whispers so as not to blow image* me and grandpa lee have been partners in crime 1 whole year now and he's taking me away for suprise weekend ahem - but could u give it to che or mr.ted?
Fizz You wont be complaining if in a few years we get "lost vs Vuzz" at Newcastle arena !! Unfortunately £££ events mean that a) you're successful and b) you're looking to expand that success. Most larger nights, Crasher Cream & GK have saturated their hometowns and so are looking for pastures new ! Fraid Newcastle is firmly set in GK's sights As much as I'd like to say "damn those money grabbing bast**ds", you cant stop handbaggers and beerboys looking for a clubbing night that they've heard of before.
Who cares under what banner you are dancing under as long as there's a decent DJ on and your gonna have a good night??? We are talking about nightclub entertainment not supporting "The Toon".
have to agree that it does damage some smaller clubs funds however some people dont have the £ to travel to large evens such as the likes of crasher/kitchen...... so it is an opertunity for the locals to see the dj's on the road. As mentioned b4 we will have to get used to big events from these big clubs. promise will have there time i am sure, it is growing every week and its reputation continues to spread. sure most of u will be going and hope to see u there. hopefully in 5-10 years time it will be promise @ telewest
godsk is 5 years old and has held 3 major events... promise is 2 years old so promise will hopefullee have there 1st large one soon possibly a joint venture with shindig?
