    AOL = :devil2:

    u running XP? you got your Java pluggin installed? what about your firewall? turn down the settings a bit and try again. Also, make sure you're full patched. Tools > Windows Update > Critical Patches. Also the usual check for spyware/virus - make sure you've got the most recent definitions for both.

    Defo sounds like your security settings are set too high. I'm sure AOL comes with it's own firewall which is defaulted to needlesly high settings. Check your AOL preferences.

    seeing as i have a decent firewall installed would putting aols own security to low be risky?

    Bollocks. I use AOL and they give me a top-notch service :king:

    HOWEVER...get rid of the AOL Browser! Well, no, you can't get rid of it, but make Internet Explorer your default browser. When you sign onto AOL, just minimise that and don't use it...ever! Then just use IE, that's what I do and it works out perfectly.

    As long as you're not going to complain that you've got an AOL Browser permanently on your taskbar, then it's the best option :up:

    F2s = Cheaper + faster. AOL is too popular and therefore you don't get quite as fast a service. BT is worse mind..

    AOL takes over far too much of your PC and installs itself everywhere. it's like Norton. horrid.
