Internet Explorer error???

    Internet Explorer error???

    About once every hour or so i get an error saying 'This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down'
    I dont know much about this shit and it is pissing me off!!!!!!
    Does any1 know how to get rid of this????

    Cud be one of many things mate.....

    Mebbe worth doin a full virus scan tho.......make sure u update virus definitions first tho...

    Cud also be worth getting latest version of IE from microsoft.com...... assuming u dont have lkatest ver....

    I've done a virus scan and it shows up ok m8. I'm not sure what version of IE I am using but I will check that out and update if necessary!!!!!

    np :)

    problem is that this error cud be caused by almost anything....usually nightmare to track down!

    i tend to just reinstall windows....can never be bothered to sit n troubleshoot cos am lazy :p :p

    I would recomend updating IE.

    yeah thats the same problem i had, i just ended up doing the above!

    yeah try re-installing or updating IE, otherwise like mr sleepy said re-installing windows is the best way.

    I did the reinstall windows thing and it cleared the problem for amount 30 secs before it fooked again.

    I later upgraded to xp and IE whatever we are up to now and it was all sorted.

    Might be a memory allocation error causing you jip. Dodgy stick of memory.
    You could try running PC diag software. Old one I used was Checkit. Anything that does a thorough check of each memory address.
    Only other way to be sure it's not software related is to repartition, reformat and reinstall Windows.
