Insurance long shot but im gonna need some camera insurance while im in america, anyone know of any decent policies that will cover about £800 quids worth of camera gear while its in a hotel room. looking for a lowish excess type policy aswell. If owt gets nicked i want a policy where its straight forwardish to claim and not too much hassle. cheers
Would be useful to know...I rang around a few firms but the highest single item cover i could get was £250 ish and they see camera and lenses as one piece of kit probably needs a specific camera policy?
live with ya mam or dad , or even on your own? section 3 on home insurance covers loss, stolen damage items anywhere in the world up to 1500 over 1500? 3a might only cost you 50
dunno whether ive got personnal possessions cover on the home insurance, dont really wanna increase their premium either if i did have to claim.
it wouldnt go up that much... and if it did,50 excess,,better than 200 single insurance and an excess on that home insuramce dosnt realy use no claims discounts unlike car insurance. use what u have and save some cash
corse it uses no claims discounts, excesses are different accross the board, theres no set excess, it just deends on what you wanted when your bought the insurance, same with whether u choose to go with personal possessions or not, its just an add on, the cheapest excess i found for camera insurance was 50 quid from AUA insurance.
all home insurance is 50 standard excess unless endorsment 50 is applied which means a diferent leval of excess is applied by insurance company- i work for the AA in home insurance different to cars there is a volutery excess which is pointless
£800?? What accessories have you bought like, considering the camera's only bout £400?! Anyway I looked into this for our holiday - http://www.nucastle.co.uk/showthread.php?threadid=70045 check out the link Ness gave, was the best I could get.
