    Installing/Accessing IIS in XP Pro..

How the hell do you access IIS in XP Pro.
I've installed it fully yet it isn't available in the "administrative tools" section..

    Any Ideas?

Can't seem to find a way of even adding a snap-in in MMC..

    :(

You're better off with Apache though...

    This is the reason why:

    Cheers for the links fella..
Got it wokring now.. just un-installed.. restarted machine.. re-installed and it worked :spangled:

I know that Apache is where its at... but I've been informed via a lecturer at college that I must use IIS as that is what we've been taught.

Therefore if I don't use IIS I show no knowledge of the unit and therefore fail..

    How gay is that!

There's no point in using IIS under XP Pro, it's a cut down version of IIS that is missing several key features.

The only way to learn is by using IIS with W2K Server or 2K3 Server :)

If you're at Northumbria and your course is with the School of Engineering, you're entitled to a free copy of either under the MSDNAA :D

Was also thinkin about Oracle.. but don't think I have the balls to do that..

I'm not any of Cisco's courses, instead I'm doing an MSc which covers most of the same stuff as the CCNP and has a lot more depth to it :)

The CCNA only teaches you how to work Cisco equipment, not how to use it properly. It's like having a qualification in reading a manual.
