Ikon Punters Speak to THESPENCE With the reports of a decent night @ Ikon, I went and met and talked to some of the Ikon massive and here are there views on all sorts. This is what 1 very Ikon punter had to say old skool friday is full of tunes like children of the nite, forever young, freedom,fly on the wings of love, power of love.thats all 4da minute and the response from 1 very unhappy Ikon punter well I must be deaf and not know it cos I havent heard them in the last couple of times I've been there. Infact was very disappointed with the tunes - was expecting old skool retro rave up and got a pretty damp squid! Last night was shortee blitz... possibly one of the best UK hip hop dj's, they've had dj semtex 2... theres bboyss, the works... sounds the best student night in newcastle... stoneloves a tad 2 cool for me
i was there on thursday and it was totally class, the music was wicked and im not particully fond of hip hop nd r'n'b. there was a lot of break dancin goin on too, all round it was a wicked nite!!
ive got a flyer here, it just says djswing, semtex shortee blitz, there are no dates as to when they are playin. i mite b goin next week, all depends if me loan comes through.
