you can get bog standard red and white audio cables with 2 connectors on one end that go into a small single connector at the oter end.

Connect the 2 ti the out of the audio out of the tv and then plug the single other connector into the audio in plug on your sound card.

That quality will be ok but not amazing...... good enuff for samples tho

Some new tvs have digital audio out but u would need a bad ass sound card to take it

get a DAB radio receiver for your computer and use the record funtion on either the software you get with it, or sound forge to record it to your hard drive.

thats assuming its radio you wanna record. ir its owt else just get a digital media card and do the same thing.

I haven't read this thread but I assume this is the way to do it ( I have no experience doin this..)

The best way to record audio from your TV, I would think, would be to use a TV card.. then use a program called total recorder to record the noise comming through the speakers

I'm assuming your gonna try and record digital radio from a Sky/Telewest digital receiver box.. I'm not too sure how this would work.

After a quick scout on OCUK I found the following product -> Hauppauge WinTV-PCI-FM Adapter

This appears to offer an integrated FM reciever.. which I presume would then allow you to run totalrecorder and therefore record the recieved audio.

If you already have a TV card.. does it offer audio inputs??
If it does then the next question is if it can take a digital signal.. if not I'm pretty sure Maplins might stock an digital to analogue converter.

What ppl are saying about the composite input cables is correct.. all you really need are the Red and White cables to record audio, as these carry the audio signal and the yellow carries the video signal.

A digital radio and a new sound blaster card would work, but I think that its an expensive option when there are other that could do the same thing for less coin.

Hope this has helped.. I'll try and stick a thread up on the OCUK forums for you 2moro to see if ppl on there can offer any suggestions.. just drop me a PM lettin me know exactly what you wanna do first.. :)

Yeh, basically I want to record radio at good quality. Having looked into it more, my original idea does seem to be the hardest way to do it tho. :dunce:

could just get som phono to pc wires and use sound forge to record it.

are you planning on rcording from sky? if so the back of the box has a red and white phone ports.

easiest and cheapest way that i can see.
