icons on my desktop that wont delete, move or right click

    travel
    poker
    card games
    printer cartridges
    casino
    web hosting
    bingo

    all stuck on my desktop.

i've ran adaware, which didnt get rid of them at all, and then spyware killer which got rid of them but when i restarted the PC they re appeared.

you can't drag them, you can't right click them and you cant highlight them and press delete. when you double click on them they open internet explorer and take you to a search engine full of results for the appropriate category..

anyone know how to get rid?

It was my mam surfing for holiday offers on the net.. i never get them when i'm on - I just know what to look out for and dont think twice about clicking certain things.

She doesnt know where they came from though.

I went and sorted out my Dad's new pc the other day - he's only had it three weeks, and uses the net to mainly look at holidays, properties abroad etc - but it was filled to the brim with spyware cookies, search hijackers etc. Seems loads of those sites have hooky advertising that likes to exploit IE.

Converted him to Firefox now  :D

Webroot's the best at blocking spyware in the first place though - I've got a trial copy if you want it ;) :D
