    Ibiza on its arse

My pals just spoke to a bar manager over there apparently there is 50% less people there from this time last year and takings 70% down.

Workers that have been out there since the beginning of the month are climbing the walls the streets are empty and no ones taking on.

To emphasize the situation The Balearics are having to put out shitty little TV adverts stating "Come visit my islands"

I expect next weeks opening partys to show much of the same

    Oh dear

The euro situation will crucify Ibiza this year imo like. Fucking loads of people giving it a miss this year as it will be so expensive.

Greedy fuckers getting their come uppance in the end.

Im sure its an amazing party atmosphere, but whoever is running these places is taking everyone for a fool with the money they charge.

Stilll ... even with the world the way it is, people are militant about their holidays so it could just well recover.

Its just a shame it has to be so much crash and burn with these things ... the greed ends up being the reason these places fold. There might not be so much of a panic on if they hadnt eamped prices up so much in the first place putting everyone off.

And it's always Mr. Pike that starts them. It's 21st May, if it's going to be quiet at anytime over the Summer it'll be pre or post season. And yeah it might be an all round quieter Summer this year (as everywhere will be) but it will not be dead.

How can the takings be down in clubs that aren't even open yet? the workers always have to go out early & rough it for a few weeks to simply get the jobs before the season kicks off. Ibiza will be stowed off this year & will be for years to come, the Euro wont affect anyone as they'll have saved or budgeted for it most of this year in preparation for going away, people always find the money when it comes to it. A new rumour always goes round about the Island every year, year before last was the apparent restrictions killing the whole night life & people definitely 'wouldn't be going back' - Every club I went to last year was still rammed to the rafters.

Ibiza will be rammed regardless, for every person that grows tired of getting their eyes pulled out, theres a new breed of clubbers just catching the bug.

Ibiza will continue like it always has despite gang shoot outs, music restrictions, ludicrous door taxes & crazy drinks prices.
