I love shit rumours :: McCartney In Shock Takeover Rumour:: Former Beatle Paul McCartney has emerged as a shock front-runner in the possible take over of Sunderland Football Club. McCartney is said to be after purchasing the club as a birthday gift for his wife, Heather Mills, who is a lifelong Sunderland fan who was born on January 12, 1968, growing up in Washington, Tyne and Wear, the middle child of Mark and Beatrice Mills and often visited Roker Park with her uncle himself a die-hard Sunderland fan. McCartney, 61, who became a father for the fourth time last year, his first child with Mills, saw his earnings top £40 million in 2004, up from £35 million a year earlier and is said to be worth £760 million. McCartney, who along with the other members of the Fab Four recorded the song "Baby, You're a Rich Man," has prospered, as have many other wrinkly rockers by touring the world and charging their old, affluent and nostalgic fans a fortune for concert tickets. Paul, a keen football enthusiast is thought to have been to at least two Sunderland games in recent months with Heather whilst also catching up with old friends, partaking in local social club events such as Bingo and Dominoes. He is said to have real sympathy for Sunderland Fans and has vowed to make Sunderland an internationally recognised club, should he gain control. Bob Murray is said to be really keen to sell after recently gaining full control of the club after buying BskyB’s shares last week. Sunderland were relegated from the Premiership in 2003 but are currently pushing for promotion. The club managed to reduce its losses last year from £20.6m to £1.2m after selling a host of leading players. However, the club's turnover dropped sharply from £42.5m to £28.5m over the same period, because of a fall in broadcast revenues. We would like to make it clear that this is a rumour sent to us at FTM. We take no responsibility for its accuracy, we reiterate that it is a rumour. By J.

Its the worst football rumour i have ever heard, although there was a one a few years ago linking us with Ortega
Sunderland have a guy on there board who is richer than Sir John Hall, Freddy Shepherd,Blob Murray & Steve Gibson, maybe they need to ask him to dig deep.
Scholes & Butt were always being linked Harped didnt pick your PM up until Monday, I didnt have any bets on & I would never bet on cup games
Because I know lots of information & I read the Sunday Mail rich list. Sir Richard Storey £100m The Storey family owned 36% of the shares in Portsmouth and Sunderland Newspapers and made about £96m when Johnston Press acquired the company in 1998. Storey, 67, has small stakes in efinancialnews and Sunderland football club, where he is on the board. In addition, the family has some valuable land assets.
