I just got a pc tv card.. the bloke in the shop sold it with the words 'this is what you need' when i asked him how to put vhs onto my pc/dvd. I've installed it etc and can get the 4 channels that I get out of my bedroom tv which makes sense seeing as I'm using the same aerial. However, I can't figure out how to capture video or even see video thats playing from my vcr. Video is playing. The wire which looks like an aerial connecion on one end and an aerial socket on the other (1 pin & 1 pin socket respectively) is plugged into my vcr and into the aerial ('tv connection' as labelled in tv card manual). This is the only way I can connect the vcr as it has no s-video output. in the tv card software I have options to view 'antenna' which is tv from the aerial if it's plugged in otherwise i get a fuzzy screen. 'Cable', 'Memory', 'Composite' and 'S-Video'. These all appear as a blank blue screen (apart from 'Memory') Any idea how i can get whats playing on the vcr to play trhough the tv card? I really need to get this sorted ASAP as its to sort a christmas video out for a friend as a present. The manual that came with the tv card is CRAP! Card I have is: Jetway Magic TV 878 I think. (The box states a totally different model and the instruction manual caters for 2 cards.. none of which match the box lol. However, the card I have looks better than the one on the box so I'll not complain just yet. One of the manuals match it too.)
What happens when you put the TV on the VCR channel and then play the video? I would have thought that that would work
Get what hint? Nobody knew where to get it done in town and i dont know anyone with a dvd recorder. I then asked what hardware i'd need to do it myself. I then bought the hardware and it doesnt work anf i know TV cards have a reputation for being a pain in the arse. I know you've given me plenty of help on this topic and u must be running out of tips
Anyway.. I've managed to get the video through but i can't get any audio  The only audio connections I have from the vcr are a left and right. In the tv card there's only an audio in and an out. ffs tv cards suck. I bet the twat in the shop forgot to tell me i'd need an adapter for the l/r audio leads.
Yeah that worked.. its the audio that im having problems with. I've just bought a magic super cable from clayton computers though so all should be well..
i have plenty of tips my friend. it was more a point that give it up you trying to do it cause you're useless. ssssssssssshhhheesssssshhhhhhhhhhh
