I have a mac problem I keep getting this pop up box with the secure page Padlock icon and Internet connection icon, It says - Keychain "login" can not be found to store "safari".....CANCEL or RESET TO DEFAULTS i cant get it to stop popping up and it's only started doing it these last couple of days! Does anyone know how i can stop this as it is frigging annoying and i'm a bit apprehensive about my secure pages now
macs are far more reliable than pcs fool, and much more powerful, i dont have one but use them at college, and why do u think theyre used in all major studios, they mus be terrible
I think they're far better than normal pc's........ generally better all round, i hate using PC's now that i have the use of this
P.S. I think they price reflects the quality, i think you definately get a lot for your money, and they hold they're value too!!! they wouldn't be as expensive if they were tat!
their operating system is a let down, its only good for 1 thing and that was encoding video. http://www.digitalvideoediting.com/2002/11_nov/reviews/cw_macvspciii2.htm pc's are far more compatible with hardware and software. plus the new top end pc's absolutely slaughter macs. macs are just a fashion accessory for your home
thats the biggest load of crap ever, check any big studio in the world and they now have macs, they are far more reliable and can take far more than pc's can also they run logic which is becoming industry standard for production and doesnt come in pc format. Also they hold their value, if you try sell your 3yrold pc youll get naff for it, whereas with a mac youll get just below what u paid for it.
macs ar overpriced. i could build a pc that would lash a new g5 if i was given the same amount of money that it costs to buy a g5
i think we'll just have to agree we have differant tastes lol they may be overpriced to start with but like i said when u go to get a newer version and sell your old mac they'll hold their price much better, a 3year old pc will be worth nothing. most studios use macs running logic now which i think says it all really
macs are fast and do look good but for the price you pay you can get better performance out of a pc. you can sell a mac for more but at the end of the day you paid too much for it in the first place. so your not winning o the value side of things
if your well into production tho its good to get used to macs and programmes such as logic, because if you go anywhere else chances are youll be faced with it and its handy to know how to use instead of having to learn. just depends what your after, i know id get a g5 straight away over anything else if i had the cash
at the end of a day id rather spend half the price and get a faster machine. i recon studios tend to use macs simply because they look better and have a more professional feel to them.
i doubt studios all over fitted macs because they thought they looked cool lol they are class computers, like i said if you take production really serious its always worth investing, u can buy a pc cheaper now, but when it comes to being a few years old and u want rid itll be worth nothing, whereas with the mac u can still get good money for it, if you have a mac your guaranteed to be able to use equipment in most studios with being used to it. just get what you like really, but turning round and calling them crap like you did is just daft
i know theyre not crap. jsut a waste of money. expensive paperweight. pc out peform them in every aspect now. you have to spend quite a few thousand pounds in the first place to get a good mac, if you couldnt sell one for a grand or so afterwards id be really pissed off i priced a mac that hd newest processor 1gig of 400mhz ram 250 gb hdd and a new geforce 6800 and it came to 3grand with the monitor. i can build a pc that will lash that for round about half the price. and this pc will do everything the mac can do but better. and if i came to sell it in about 3 years i kow i wouldnt get much but id still get enought to put towards another pc. where as the mac you spent miles more than you had to in the first place. as for this mac, it doesnt seem to be holding its value does it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4607&item=5200733357&rd=1
the arguments still their tho, if you take producing or recording seriously then when u go to any studio they'll be using macs, if i had the money i would have one straight away. its the same with djing why should i get a par of technics when i can get vestax with a stronger motor for less, its cos you want to get used to industry standard equipment
thats unlucky for him, it isnt top of the range either, my lecturer at college got £700 for his old G4
I got my powerbook g4 for free and i know it's worth about 2k........ i have had no problems with it, apart from this pop up box thing i cant work out....and it's easy to use and performs like a dream. I'll never have anything other than a mac now that i have experienced it. It's like Nokia, i'll never own any other mobile than a nokia as it is perfect for me in every way...has all the things i need, performance is superb and stylish too
maybe so mate, my main argument isnt about the price tho, i said if i had the cash i would fork out on it because of the fact theyre used all over now, the fact that itll hold its price a bit better is just a bonus youse both have good arguments and for your average person it probably isnt worth it, but im saying if i had the cash i know what id go for after using them for a while
