haven't been in close to a year but used to go with beer boy type mates never liked it then - would hate it now.

Deffinatly not my cuppa - I tire of trance easily - I tire of prog with in the first 10 minutes....

    I'm a tad 2 cultured 4 prog.

shindig aint prog though  its house music........ usually of the deep/dirty/pounding/tough/techno-y sort

.......... the type of stuff that blows the back off ya heed off along with the roof, and sends the dancefloor fookin crazy. trust me the shindig dancefloor goes as radge as the promise one most weeks :D:D

couple more years you'll start appreciating it :p

To be fair mate in a couple of years time if I've tired of hard house the last place I'll look for comfort is bloody prog.... I can find little I like in it and I have very broad music taste.

Anyways if John Peel can like happy hardcore at his age - I don't see why i'll suddenly go off hard music and start appriciating mundane music that never reaches its potential.

I'm not having a go at anyone who likes prog - just feel sorry for you really :D

(and we both know shindig books prog dj's :p)

And to befair si - I've been there when shindig has kicked off.... I've also been to many ritzy's when they've kicked off... Just because a night kicks off it doesn't make it enjoyable :D

    Hernan Cattaneo is awesome.

And as far as shindig booking boring DJ's thats a load of tosh. How is Digweed boring? Fair enough you may not like the style he plays but it certainly aint boring.

true true......... just trying to correct the view a lot of people have that shindig/prog is dull boring plodding along but never quite gettin there music. I saw sander at cream bout 2 yrs ago and he was exactly that, I was bored!

but no-one who saw max graham at promise or CJ macintosh at Dig last week could use the words dull boring etc......... uplifting and euphoric more like :D:D

I'm looking fwd to hearing what Digweed's like next sat

guess there's many flavours of prog :p

Never heard CJ live and I don't like to judge a dj from mp3/cd sets as live acts are very different.

I would deffinatly wouldn't class Max Graham as deep dirty prog... maybe we're just thinking about too different things :D MG 2 me is unquestionably prog trance.

And phil ur right and there absences have been noted by many  nevermind their corrupt and unjust dj recommendations :p

I'm pretty sure you would have loved CJ last sat, easily one of the best nights I've ever had at foundation...... even that die-hard trance/bosh head dr Mick had a tremendous time. 9/10 he gave it :p

agree that MG is proggy trance, and def not deep/dirty, but he does play housy and proggy housy as well. 'Prog' is just too broad a label these days

still lv me trance though

I deffinatly wouldn't class myself as "hard trance/bosh head", hard house is infact the one of the few hard music genres I like.. I love good music and I know for certain theres prolly 1 or 2 prog tunes I really like - just I like a little melody in my music (and by meoldy I don't mean a few plinky plonky trance keys)... Prog doesn't keep me entertained - the reason I don't like it because I find every set boring and bland - it lacks the qualities I look for in music - especially when I'm out... when I'm out I like very energetic music :D
